EE&G helped advance the redevelopment of two former laundry and dry cleaning properties in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. The sites contained complex soil and groundwater contamination that extended beneath nearby roads, an alleyway, and a historic building.
Services included environmental assessments, risk evaluation, soil and groundwater remediation, and post remediation groundwater monitoring. EE&G also designed and installed a subsurface impermeable barrier wall to minimize the potential for shallow groundwater contaminant migration and helped secure state-funded cleanup assistance.
Through regulatory coordination and practical engineering solutions in a design-build capacity, EE&G supported the sale of both parcels, redevelopment of the western parcel for industrial use, and planning for mixed-use redevelopment on the eastern parcel.
